SURENA IV
UpdatedUniversity of Tehran (CAST) · HumanoidActive
The fourth generation of Iran's SURENA humanoid robot series, developed at the Center of Advanced Systems and Technologies (CAST) at the University of Tehran under Professor Aghil Yousefi-Koma. SURENA IV has 43 degrees of freedom — a major leap from SURENA III's 31 — enabling force-controlled gripping of objects with varying shapes and materials. It walks continuously at 0.7 km/h (double SURENA III's speed), handles uneven terrain using novel sole contact sensors, and performs whole-body motion planning including writing and ball-kicking. AI capabilities include face detection, object recognition, skeleton-based whole-body imitation, and speech recognition/synthesis. Built lighter than its predecessor through topology optimization, compact custom actuators, and SLA 3D-printed covers. Control loops run at 200 Hz via FPGA. The IEEE has recognized the SURENA series among prominent humanoid robots worldwide.

Features 60 joints with 200 degrees of freedom and a 720-degree AI vision system derived from XPENG's self-driving technology. Targeted for mass production in late 2026, initially for industrial assembly and service applications.
Mirokaï
UpdatedEnchanted Tools · Service
Mirokaï is a social humanoid robot built by Enchanted Tools, a French startup founded in 2021 by Jérôme Monceaux — who previously co-created NAO and Pepper at Aldebaran Robotics. Standing about 1.23m tall and weighing around 26kg, Mirokaï moves on a patented omnidirectional rolling globe instead of legs, letting it glide smoothly through human spaces like hospitals, hotels, and airports. Its animated face is projected onto a 3D head using a built-in projector, giving it expressive real-time facial animations. The latest Explorer Suit version features torque-controlled arms with a 97% grasping success rate, multi-LLM conversational AI, VSLAM autonomous navigation, and GDPR-compliant face tracking. Enchanted Tools delivered its first unit to ISIR (Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique) in mid-2024 and has a partnership with the Montpellier Cancer Institute to accompany children to radiation therapy. The company raised €17 million in seed funding — the largest early-stage robotics investment in France.
K20+ Pro
UpdatedSwitchBot · Home
SwitchBot's modular home robot, unveiled at CES 2025 and shipping since mid-2025. At its core is a compact robot vacuum, but what sets the K20+ Pro apart is its FusionPlatform — a wheeled circular base that clips onto the vacuum via a mechanical ClawLock system. The platform can carry up to 8 kg and accepts various SwitchBot accessories: a pan/tilt security camera for mobile home monitoring, an air purifier for room-to-room filtration, a circulator fan, or even a cordless stick vacuum. It also supports third-party devices via USB-C power ports, and SwitchBot encourages 3D-printed custom attachments. The robot navigates with D-ToF LiDAR and dual laser sensors for centimeter-level obstacle avoidance. It works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Shortcuts, and Matter-compatible smart home setups. Rather than trying to build a humanoid, SwitchBot took a practical approach: make existing home devices mobile.
